So, incase you did not already know, JoinMyTrip is a platform where you (yes, you) can join trips with like-minded travelers, or you can create and plan a new and unique trip yourself! After the trip is all planned, though, you’ll need some awesome Travel Buddies to join in on your adventure. Aspiring TripLeaders, if you’re thinking about posting your first voyage, we can assure you that there is plenty of good reason to become a TripLeader. If you’ve just created your trip: congratulations, we’re happy to have you on board! 🎉 Here’s how to best promote the piece of art that is your new trip:
1. Facebook is your best friend
Our Facebook community is constantly growing, and it will serve as one of the best tools for finding TripMates. Here, you’ll find many different groups to promote your kind of trip, whether it be CoWorking in the sun or going on a girls trip.
There’s some things to keep in mind that will make your trip stand out! Adding a catchy text (think: ‘Escape to the Waterfalls of Iceland’ vs. ‘Trip to Iceland’) and some awesome travel photos will make your future TravelMates much more excited to join! Don’t have travel photos? No worries! You can find plenty of free photos on platforms like Pixabay or Unsplash.

2. Leverage social media
Once your trip is out for the world to see on Facebook, you can also promote it on social media! Shout it from the rooftops, because your trip is deserving of that. 😉 You might be surprised by the TripMates you find on by leveraging various platforms! Plus, who sees ‘CoWorking in the sun’ and doesn’t want to go?
3. The more ya know: revamp your trip
TravelMates are super curious to know all about the trip before committing to a booking. This is why its super important for our fab TripLeaders to include everything possible about the trip in the trip description. In the trip description, make sure to include these things:
- WHO you are
- WHY you’re going: the purpose of the trip
- WHAT your expectations are
To add even more useful info, you can also include the costs of the trip, what activities you’re planning on doing, how your plan to get around (transportation), and where you plan on staying (accommodation). Remember, pictures serve as your best tool! Search through the archives of Pixabay or Unsplash for some attractive photos. We all know that the people love pictures to get a little taste of what the trip might look like! Hint: you can also use the same photos on social media, so that interested TripMates will recognize your trip on various platforms!

4. Tell us (and the TripMates) all about yourself
On your personal JoinMyTrip profile, make sure to share who you are (aka awesome). The first step to attracting TripMates with your profile is by verifying it with an identity card, passport or driving license. After that, connect your bank account so that you can receive payments. Ta-da, you’re now verified!
You also want to make sure that you find like-minded TripMates, so that the vibes of your group can be all that you hoped for. To do this, add as much information about yourself as you can! What do you like to do on weekends? Are you an adventurer or like to sit and relax on the beach? Naturally, your TripMates want to know who they will be spending all their time with, so don’t be afraid to showcase your persona! We’re all just a bunch of Curious George’s.
